Here are a few photos from a scenic drive in southwest Wyoming including Flaming Gorge Recreation Area. The diversion off Interstate 80 took me south to Mountain View, WY, east to Manila, UT, and then north to Green River, WY. Near Mountain View, I noticed unusually green mountains without any trees. Evidently something had been mined, exposing this green landscape.
As I drove on I really wished I had time to go back to Yellowstone. But that national park is a couple of hours away in northern Wyoming - a trip I will hopefully make in 2012.
