I finally have seen all 50 states. I guess I saved the best for last. I bought a t-shirt in one of the shops in Anchorage that says "Alaska - The Last Great Place". It truly is great in so many ways.
The highest peak in North America is Mount McKinley which is in Denali National Park. From the air, glaciers stretch for miles. I saw brown bears, grizzly bears, wolves, caribou, moose, golden eagles, killer whales, foxes, all in just eight days.
Next time I would like at least a month. On our last day, we finally saw Mt. McKinley which the locals say had been hidden in clouds most of the summer. But the highlight was the close encounter with the bear in the Kenai Peninsula.
