My name is Steve Goetz and welcome to ScenicPlaces.com. I created this site in 2006 to share my travel photos of unique places in the United States. I have been lucky enough to work in a business that has taken me to nearly every state. When I first started traveling extensively in 1997, I never brought along a camera. I eventually purchased my first digital camera in 2000. I guess you could say the photo bug has bitten me, since I now own a Canon 5D Mark II with 21 megapixels and a few nice lenses.

My site ScenicPlaces.com has grown to hundreds of links with thousands of images. Many of these places are familiar to frequent travelers, but some are off the beaten path. I particularly enjoy hiking in many of the national parks in the U.S. On this site you can see the exact spot where photos were taken by zooming in on the map at the bottom of each page.

Use the drop-down menu at the upper left side of the page to go directly to a U.S. State. Many States have several submenus. As of the most recent update, the list of States with scenic photos numbers 48. It's strange that I have never been to Europe, or many other places around the globe. But I'll get there soon enough. In the meantime, there are a few more great places in the U.S. yet to be explored. For 2011, I have trips planned for Bryce and Zion Canyons in Utah and Glacier National Park located in Montana and Canada.
